People dream. The two words when separated doesn't seem to hold much weight but when put together, can open a door full of mysteries.
Many scientists and psychologists have studied about dreams, the meaning of them or the influence of them on human brain and lifestyle, trying to unravel the secrets bit by bit.
The most general question that follows the curiosity of a person is "What do dreams mean?" "Why does a person dream?"
Famous psychologist Sigmund Freud believed that dreams are a medium that help us understand our subconscious.
"Dreams reveal a person's unconscious desires, thoughts, wishes and motivations."
His interpretation of dreams emphasized that they were a way for people to satisfy urges and desires that weren’t acceptable to society.
While there are many theories that explain why we dream, no one fully understands the purpose of dreams. Dreams are mysterious. Sometimes, you would stand at the edge of a cliff, sometimes in your old school, or house.
The fact that the things you experience in your dreams appear so real makes it interesting to learn more about them!
Now let's take a closer look at some of the most common dreams.
1) Dreams About Falling
Certainly, no one is an exception when it comes to dreams about falling off something as common as a chair to something as scary as a building! Well, thankfully it doesn't hurt in dreams.
Falling off from great heights could be a sign that you need to let yourself go and enjoy your life. But it could also suggest you to reconsider a choice or take a turn in life and pursue something new.
Some also say it associates with a person's hidden insecurities, anxieties and loss of control over an important issue representing a sense of helplessness.
But if you land safely, then it just means you should trust your instincts to lead you out of difficulty!
2) Dreams About Being Chased
If you ever get a dream about being chased by a person, a dog or a super natural entity, don't worry that's perfectly normal. It generally means your subconscious mind is reminding that you are avoiding someone or something.
If the pursuer is an stranger, it may suggest you feel threatened but you don't truly know or understand the source of threat. If it is an animal, it may indicate built up anger that is trying to release itself from your unconscious mind.
Such dreams can be as real as possible. It's like a wake up call. Sometimes even if things get painful, annoying or stressful to think about, he/she needs to face them head-on to avoid dreams like these.
3) Dreams About Losing Teeth
As terrifying as it sounds, losing or teeth falling out can have multiple meanings. They represent personal loss or important changes in life. It also means the person is undergoing a period of self doubt, frustration, fear, or insecurity.
These nightmarish dreams could be a sign of depression or normal Anxiety. They can also signal that you are too concerned about what others think of you.
However, famous psychologist C.G. Jung said teeth falling out can symbolize times of renewal and rebirth.
"Dreams change in the way they are interpreted"
4) Dreams About Being Naked in Public
In most cases, dreams of being naked in the public represents that you are embarrassed about something about yourself. It is mostly regarding things you don't want others to know about you.
According to some people, nakedness in the dream is a person's vulnerability and weakness. As if people are staring at you and judging, quite horrible, isn't it?
However on a positive note, if you feel that others aren't judging you or if you feel a rush of confidence then it represents that you are carefree and relaxed. It could be a sign of encouragement that you are 'you' despite what others may think.
5) Dreams About Taking a Test
As a person with countless experience of such dreams, I would say this kind definitely tops my chart of horrible dreams. They represent a situation in life where we stand incapable of solving the issue. Some say, it represents a new phase in life that you are really uncertain about.
In such dreams you may come across situations like forgetting your ID or pen, feeling unprepared, the test being too hard, missing an entire page and seeing it at the last minute, misunderstanding a question, running out of time, being late. They represent anxiety, fear of making decisions, uncertainty, self doubt and lack of confidence.
"But as every coin has two sides, every interpretation has a contradiction."
If you dream about passing the exam, it means you had a major change recently. You feel happy and confident about your achievements. However, if you aren't too happy with the results then maybe the bar was too high! Maybe you need to change something in your routine.
Well, that's about it. If you wanna know more do check out our next post which mainly explores about all kinds of dreams and their interpretations.

ReplyDeleteIt happens and we definitely see the face of that person becoz our brain can't assume a face which we had ever seen. A random face that we might have watched in public someone we met or something. We usually don't remember the face of that person.
